About O'Connor Law

Providing personalised legal services with over 70 years of combined experience.

OUR HISTORY

Servicing the Cairns community Since 2008

O’Connor Law was established in 2008, by founding Director and Consultant, Peter O’Connor.

It is now a prominent firm in Cairns, led by its Directors Peter O’Connor, Tammy Williams and Dylan Carey, together with their team of experienced lawyers and dedicated administration staff.

We take the time to understand our client’s circumstances, their personal and business needs, and tailor our advice to suit. We recognise that no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach works to achieve client goals, so our practice is built with your solution in mind.

With over 70 combined years’ experience in the legal industry, O’Connor Law is recognised for its delivery of high-quality work and client services.

HOW WE SUPPORT THE REGION

Community Contribution and Corporate Social Responsibility

O’Connor Law takes great pride in being in a fortunate position in the community to be able to assist those who are less fortunate and to assist community driven initiatives and proposals.

Doing so provides all staff at O’Connor Law with a deeper sense of connection to the community and pride in the work performed to the benefit of the community.

We fulfill that commitment with the following contributions:

Cancer Council Queensland

We offer free Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney to referrals from the Cancer Council Pro Bono Program.

Since 2016 O’Connor Law has undertaken pro bono Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney for people diagnosed with cancer and referred to us by the Cancer Council Pro Bono Program.

Cairns Taipans Basketball

As well as being avid supporters of Cairns only national sporting team, we have been the pro bono lawyers for the Cairns Taipans Basketball team since it became a community owned club in 2008.

Cairns Italian Festival

We have been the pro bono lawyers for the Cairns Italian Festival since its inception and are committed to continuing in this role.

Voluntary membership and roles

The directors and staff of O’Connor Law have held and currently hold voluntary board or management committee positions at AFL Juniors, Cairns Basketball, Cairns Squash, Cairns Golf Club, the University of the Third Age, the Far North Queensland Law Association, and have previously been in roles on the Diocese of Cairns, the Catholic Development Fund, and the Cairns Chamber of Commerce.

Jute Theatre Company
